If you want to teach your kids generosity – or just spend more time studying the Bible together – this beautiful kit from Generous Family is a perfect fit. Here’s why.
Disclosure: I was compensated for my time reviewing the Generous Students Homeschool Curriculum Kit from Generous Family, but all opinions are honest – I want to help YOU in your choice of homeschool curriculum!
Your kids are fighting again, aren’t they?
You’ve done everything you can think of, and they STILL bicker and whine and drive you batty!
I see you taking a deep breath and counting to 10. I see you trying to come up with another strategy so you can try again.
Look, kids ARE self centered – it’s just a part of their nature (and ours, too!) Even when you’ve finally gotten something through to them and things are going well – eventually they grow up a little more, their brains and emotions develop a little more, and you have to start all over again!
As parents we can offer correction and discipline to try to change a child’s actions. But if we really want to make a deep and lasting impact on their little hearts, we need to focus on their character.
Want kids who don’t fight and beg and whine so much?
I sure do!
Take a look at this impactful bible study for homeschoolers on living generously.
A Bible Study To Teach Generosity
One thing we often say in our family is that we need to move in the opposite spirit. For example, if we are upset that we don’t have something we want, we need to give something to someone else.
Generosity is the opposite spirit of many unpleasant character traits we see pop up in our kids – and ourselves! So it makes sense that a study on Biblical generosity might be just the thing we need to break out of some of these bad habits.
By learning about generosity, kids begin to take their focus off of themselves and notice others. And don’t we all get into seasons in which we are a little too self focused? Generosity is the perfect topic to help us begin to reach outside of ourselves. Learning to become generous with all that we have is a perfectly designed cure for many of our worst traits.
The Generous Students Homeschool Curriculum Kit from Generous Family is a 26 week study that little by little leads your whole family towards a more generous heart. The activities teach Biblical generosity through Scripture, historical and Biblical examples, journal prompts, audio and video stories, and more. Lessons take just around 10 minutes a day, and work well for ages 5 through 18.
Students will learn about 7 areas of generosity:
- Thoughts
- Words
- Time
- Money
- Influence
- Attention
- Belongings
The Homeschool Curriculum Kit includes:
- Instructor Guide
- 3 Student Journals (you can buy additional journals)
- Sticker Pages
- Generosity Heroes Book
- Generosity Jar Sticker
An Easy Homeschooling Kit For Families To Use
As a homeschool mom, I loved most that the instructor’s guide feels very peaceful. This curriculum didn’t make me feel like I had to do hours of prep work. I also wasn’t stumbling through the instructions and trying to figure out what to teach my kids.
We simply opened the instructor’s guide to the week we were on and did that day’s task. I also really appreciated the Instructor’s Portal. I was able to bring it up on my phone and screencast video’s to my TV so we could watch them together – all with just a couple of clicks.
We also loved that we could listen to audio version of the stories in the car while running errands.
Raise Giving Christian Kids
The daily lessons in the Generous Students Homeschool Curriculum Kit take your family through a rhythm of discussion questions, journaling, exploring Scripture, connecting with stories of real people, and practical activities to live out what kids learn.
Buy going through these lessons daily, we noticed a change in our conversation. Using the activities and the generosity jar also helped us stay focused and motivated on living generously.
Daily Lessons Help Us All Stay Focused On Others
We start our homeschool days with Morning Meeting. After our kids eat breakfast, get dressed, and do their chores, we all snuggle up on the couch to begin our days.
The Generous Students kit was an easy fit into our daily routine. I try to keep Morning Meeting short so we can get to our studies at a reasonable time. So being able to open to the current page and peacefully go through the day’s lesson is a must.
If you already do a morning basket or daily devotions, I think this Bible study on generosity would fit right into your schedule. This would also be very easy and practical to do around the breakfast table or dinner table.
I hope this review has blessed you and your family in some way. We really loved this kit from Generous Family! Remember to use the code GIVE20 for $20 off your order. Take a look at the product page.
Blessings,
Christy
